  • The most attractive places to visit in Chiclana de la Frontera

    #Andalucía #Routes

There’s something about the air in southern Spain. Fresh air, a charming, joyful ambience that lets you enjoy the present without worrying about tomorrow.

Long beaches, where you can relax or take a stroll, cocktail in hand, to admire the sunset. Can we tempt you?

    Playa de la Barrosa

The jewel in the crown at Chiclana de la Frontera is Playa de la Barrosa. Eight kilometres of golden sands where you can sunbathe, try some water sports or just relax and have fun with the family at one of the most beautiful beaches in southern Spain.

Cocktails and music on the sand

The beach bars at Playa la Barrosa are perfect for unforgettable evenings with the last rays of the sun before it sets, a delicious cocktail and great music. We recommend Life Beach Club at Hipotels Barrosa Palace and Pure Beach Club at Hipotels Barrosa Park.

    Sancti Petri castle

Lying on the sand, you can see the islet and Sancti Petri castle in the distance. You can only get there by sea, whether in a small boat, kayak or even swimming or on foot when the tide is low. It is one of the most treasured symbols of Sancti Petri.

    Chiclana de la Frontera

Highly recommended is a wander around the city of Chiclana de la Frontera, a delightful enclave that brings together culture, art and gastronomy and home to many different monuments and places of interest such as the Church of Saint John the Baptist or the traditional market. You can also enjoy a flamenco show at the heart of Andalusian culture, and perhaps a wine tasting visit at one of the local wine cellars.

    Bay of Cadiz nature reserve

To spend some time enjoying the splendour of nature, there’s no better way than an excursion through the Bay of Cadiz nature reserve. You can see it by canoe, sailing boat, diving or on horseback along one of the pony-trekking routes. You’ll be able to admire all the flora and fauna in the area, as well as discovering the Santa María de Jesús saltworks hiking trail. Don’t leave without sampling the traditional cuisine of the area: langoustines, oysters, sea bass and the famous shrimp fritters. A real delicacy!
