We chose this hotel for our Honeymoon . We started our journey at Birmingham airport . We were delayed due to the snow but we had booked a VIP lounge which i would highly recommend....
We arrived very late and missed dinner but the hotel kindly organised some food for us..
Ok so the hotel,
It is very beautiful, clean , organised and the staff were very profesional and friendly.. We were upgraded to a suite for our honeymoon with a sea view which was amazing, they also gave us complimentary bottle of champagne..We had origionally booked a basic room but emailed the hotel direct and told them about it being our honeymoon ( hence the free upgrade ) .
The thompson rep was very good and very accessible and approachable . there was plenty of info in his room and books etc to read which previous guests had left behind. there were a couple of gift shops inside the hotel and a spa which i found a bit disappointing as although it was easy to book treatments we couldn't book a joint massage as at the time there was only one person on duty .. so we had to go at separate times which isn't the honeymoon experience we wanted.. The evening entertainment wasn't bad better than most ( a piano player ) for chilling out to or the theater bar where they put on shows which werent too bad ..
We were Half board and found the food for breakfast and dinner very nice, plenty of choice and tasty. Sometimes there was a large queue to enter the dining room as you had to be seated by the matrad'e .but saying that he was very efficient and the queue went down very quick... My only moan is that you had to pay for drinks at evening meal , even water .. i would have expected at least some free choices ...
The pools were very clean ( the salt water one very cold ) and there was plenty of beds available and a lifeguard on duty. there was activities available if you wished to participate but the was no noise around the pool or annoying animation team playing silly games so for our honeymoon this was ideal. ( small warning there is a nudist area with a wall around near to the tennis courts we almost walked in there while exploring the grounds )
The location :- for a quiet holiday the hotel was perfect.. it was right on a seafront promenade which was a nice walk to nearby shops, bars and beaches but it was at least a good 40 minutes walk into the main town of playa blanca so if you like a bit of a wander it may be a bit far unless you like to walk alot.. but saying that we did walk it a few times and also caught a taxi at night there and back which was only 3 euros each way and worth it for a bit more night life. ..
Immediately close to the hotel is a sports bar ( across the road opposite the entrance ) a small supermarket is next to it. from the pool exit to the promenade if you turn right there are a few bars and resteraunts ( greek , italian , steak and indian ) also a snack bar which does nice sandwiches and pizzas. ..
We went on a few excursions which aren't cheap but gave a chance to see more of the island . submarine adventure , this was a short excursion but a good experience going on a yellow submarine , underwater for about an hour and you see ship wreck and a giant stingray . we also did the north tour green caves which was also beautiful some lovely scenery but if you dont like tight spaces some of the caves get a bit tight...
Overall i couldn't fault the hotel , staff or food , location was ideal for a quiet honeymoon but probably a bit too far from the main strip to say we would return..
